Practice Emphasis
Ms. Rayburn exclusively practices in the area of civil litigation, representing manufacturers in the defense of product liability and other tort claims. She also represents employers in the defense of claims of wrongful discharge and discrimination.
Education
Ms. Rayburn is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of Oregon and the state courts of Washington. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, from Portland State University and her Juris Doctorate from Willamette University College of Law.
Professional Activities
Ms. Rayburn is a member of the Oregon State, Multnomah County and Washington State Bar Associations. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, including the Tort & Insurance Practice and the Product Liability Sections. Ms. Rayburn is also a member of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. From 1992 through 1995, she served on the Oregon State Board of Bar Examiners.
Representative Cases
- Represented automobile manufacturers in crashworthiness cases involving seat belts, reactors, retensioners, air bags, seats, brakes, electrical wiring and cruise controls.
- Represented manufacturers and/or retailers of breast implants, printing presses, asphalt rollers, wheelchairs, bicycles, ATVs and fuel pump systems for gasoline stations.
- Represented manufacturers in fire cases involving flourescent lights and small electrical home appliances.
